Manual Discount Types
In addition to automatic promotions, managers can apply manual discounts directly from the payment screen.
Creating Discount Types
Navigate to Admin > Promotions > Manual Discounts to create predefined discount options like "Staff Discount (10%)", "VIP Guest (15%)", or "Complaint Resolution (€20)".
For each discount type, you can set:
- Name: Display name on the POS
- Type: Percentage or Fixed Amount
- Value: The discount amount
- Minimum Role: Which staff levels can apply it (Staff, Manager, Admin)
- Active Status: Enable or disable the discount
Applying Manual Discounts
During the payment process, tap the "Add Discount" button on the Payment View. Select from your predefined discount types, and the system will immediately recalculate the total. The discount name and amount will appear on the receipt and in all reports.
Security & Tracking
All manual discounts are logged with the staff member who applied them, the timestamp, and the order details. This provides full audit trails for accounting and loss prevention.
